CARNIVAL'S ANSWERS TO YOUR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

Cruise Travel Tips

What is the required travel documentation for all port for U.S. citizens?

Carnival highly recommends all guests travel with a passport (valid for at least six months beyond completion of travel).
Although a passport is not required for U.S. citizens taking cruises that begin & end in the same U.S. port, traveling with a passport enhances your disembarkation experience, as delays may be expected upon your return to the U.S. if you do not have one. Additionally, passports make it easier for you to fly from the U.S. to a foreign port should you miss your scheduled port of embarkation, or need to fly back to the U.S. for emergency reasons.

All U.S. citizens (including children) sailing on cruises that begin and end in the same U.S. port must have one of the documents below:
- Valid U.S. Passport
- Original or suitable quality copy of a Birth Certificate
- Certificate of Naturalization
- Passport Card

A government-issued photo I.D. is also required for all guests, including children 16 and over. For more information, or to obtain a passport application, visit www.travel.state.gov.
______________________________________________________________________
Are there any age restrictions on board?

Drinking alcoholic beverages:
Guest must be 21 years of age or older to be served alcohol on board. Proper I.D. with birth date is required.

Casino:
Guest must be 18 years of age or older to play the tables and the slot machines.
Guests under 18 years of age are not permitted in the casino.

Spa Carnival and fitness center:
Guests under 12 years of age are not permitted in these facilities.
Guests between the ages of 12 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Lounges, shows, and the dance club:
Guests under the age of 18 should be accompanied by an adult in all public areas of the ship.
Guests under the age of 18 must vacate the dance club by 10:00pm.
Guests under the age of 18 may not attend the Midnight Shows, which are "R" rated.

Is there a safe in each stateroom?

For our guests' convenience and security, a safe is provided in every stateroom and is located in either the closet or a cabinet. The size varies among the fleet; approximate size: 10"(wide) x 9"(high) x 8"(deep).
On the following ships, guests must obtain a key from their room Steward. There is no charge; however, a $40 fee will be charged to their Sail & Sign Account in the event the key is lost or not returned by the last evening of the cruise: Fantasy Ecstasy.
On all other ships, the safe can be opened by using any type of card with a magnetic strip on the back, such as a credit card.

What's included in my cruise price?

Your cruise fare should include the room, food and some beverages. No-cost drinks may include coffee, tea, iced tea, lemonade and — with breakfast — juice.
If you have to watch every penny, go with the free activities — pool, gym, shows and — in port — a stroll through town or the beach instead of that costly helicopter ride.
For those interested in shore excursions, you'll find vendors providing tours in each port. They may cost less than what the cruise ship charges for similar outings.
Book in advance via the cruise line and know that it's money well-spent. Popular tours book quickly.

What is the Unlimited Soda Program?

We offer all guests the option to purchase the "Unlimited Soda Program" which will allow them unlimited soft drinks for the duration of the cruise at a one-time purchase price (including gratuities). The "Unlimited Soda Program" can be purchased at the casino, lobby and pool bar onboard the ship. In all locations where beverage service is offered, guests may receive a glass of the soft drink of their choice - one glass will be served at a time and only to the guest whose name appears on the card. The card cannot be used through room service.
NOTE: A 15% gratuity will automatically be added to the purchase of the "Unlimited Soda Program."

Who should I be tipping?
What is the Carnival Cruise tipping policy onboard?

For your convenience, we automatically charge the gratuities for dining and stateroom staff to your onboard Sail & Sign account. The total amount is $10.00 per guest, per day (our recommended guideline) as follows:
$ 3.50 Per Day Stateroom Services
$ 5.50 Per Day Dining Room Services
$ 1.00 Per Day Alternative Services: distributed to other kitchen and hotel service staff
Our Staff is totally committed to exceed your expectations in every way possible. If you are not satisfied with the service you receive, we encourage you to contact the Guest Services desk while onboard. This will allow us to address your concerns in a timely and appropriate fashion. At your discretion, you may adjust the gratuities at any time while onboard. Gratuities will be deemed undisputed unless a request to modify is received prior to disembarking the ship.
For beverage purchases, fifteen percent of the bill is automatically added to the Sail & Sign charge. Room Service staff may be tipped as service is rendered. Tipping your Maître d' is at your discretion, based upon the service you receive.
Are there electrical outlets?
Most carnival cruise line rooms only have a single outlet. This can be hard for the cruise traveler with multiple appliances such as irons, alarm clocks, cell phone chargers, media player charges and more. Bring a small power strip so that you can plug everything in at once without having your MP3 player going dead before going to port.

Can special diets be accommodated?

Guests with special diet requirements can be accommodated on Carnival Cruise Lines. We do not have dieticians onboard; therefore, we can only offer assistance with simple requests such as the method of preparation of menu items. Special diet requirements need to be arranged with the guest's headwaiter on the first night of the cruise. Every menu (in the dining room) has Spa Carnival Cuisine Fare. These items are lower in calories, sodium, cholesterol and fat. Salads are prepared with diet dressing. Desserts are prepared with Sweet'N Low or NutraSweet instead of sugar. In addition, each menu has one vegetarian entree. Low-cholesterol egg substitute is available upon request as well as diet jellies at breakfast.

The following special dietary meals can be prepared onboard:
- Vegetarian
- Low-cholesterol
- Low-fat
- Low-carbohydrates
- Low-sugar
- Gluten-free
- Kosher (limited selections and quantities available - call Reservations two weeks prior to sailing to request Kosher meals)

The following food is not available onboard:
- Baby food and formula
